Altered Book: Embalming Textbook

For my altered book, I decided to alter a textbook that was dear to me while I was in embalming school. I have included images of the cover, inner flaps, and the spine. These images are the digital designs from Procreate-- I am currently screen printing the images to use as the cover. I will be converting it from a soft cover book to a hard cover, for durability and permeance. 

I opted to use a combination of Victorian and Ancient Egyptian memorial imagery, as those are the eras in which I felt most aesthetically drawn.
